The New Year has come and gone, and Artemisia is still under construction. But we're getting closer to reaching the finish line and starting to enjoy our zero-energy shared home.
Dave was at the house last weekend varnishing the ridge beam and starting the cork floor installation. He even caulked around the tub and took the house's first shower!
With the help of our excellent finish carpenter, Mark Perry, we are making good progress on the interior. The loft ladder is done, and Mark is building the staircase out of beefy glulam beams. All of the fir windowsills and and caps for the half walls are done, and I was able to sand and varnish them when I was out in Winthrop in mid-December. Mark has also started installing the plywood accent wall. More photos to come soon!
